| Abstract | Blepharis maderaspatensis (L.) Heyne ex Roth. is used for treatment of a number of ailments like dysuria, headache,
diseases of nervous system, diuretic and aphrodisiac. The present investigation deals with the pharmacognostic studies
of the whole plant of the said plant. Pharmacognostic studies include microscopic, physicochemical constant (ash &
extractive valves), fluorescence analysis and preliminary phytochemical evolutions. The results of the study could be
useful for the identification and preparation of a monograph of the plant.
